Tanima has a background in Indigenous arts and aesthetics courtesy to her studies at the National Institute of Technology and the Footwear Design and Development Institute, where she earned Master of Design and Bachelor of Design degrees, respectively. She has experience in the field of socially conscious design, specifically in the fields of textiles and apparel. She was inspired to pursue this issue for her doctoral thesis by her desire to better understand the processes by which people acquire expertise in a variety of indigenous crafts and its related disciplines.
She is a thoughtful designer, an enthusiastic illustrator, and a passionate dancer who fills the dance floor with rhythmic, joyful gestures. If anyone in the office is going to be seen laughing at lame jokes and generally not taking life too seriously, it will be her.
