Experience Lab was founded in May 2023 by Prof. Aneesha Sharma, Associate Professor at Department of Design IIT Delhi, India.

The lab aims to research into the experiential dimension of human endeavours.

The Experience Lab is focussed on studying Creative and Aesthetic experiences. Presently, the lab works in the area of Culture and Craft, Design Cognition, architectural experiences and Visual design. The research in this lab will employ qualitative methodologies of Phenomenology, Ethnography, first person methodologies and methodologies from Cognitive Sciences to ist investigation into the experiences of tangible and intangible materiality.

The research at Experience Lab spans into three broad areas

Creative & Aesthetic Experiences

Our research examines the aesthetic and the creative processes of Artists & creative practitioners as well as looks into the spaces that facilitate the creative practices.

Craft & Culture

Our work looks how art, craft and design are an intrinsic part of culture and how they shape each creative artefact. We explore how a cultural object interacts with the humans in context and the experiences and attachment its forms, both tangible and intangible to build pluralistic realities.

Design Cognition

We investigate the cognitive mechanisms that underlie the Art & Design processes especially the states of mind during the creative processes.
